In order for PBYS to atack the behavioral portion of your habit, you must consistently associate Poking and Smoking. If you "pre-poke" your smokes, the association simply ceases to exist. Thus, while you may be getting the short term benefits of reduced tar, nicotine, and particulate matter, the long term benefits of the PITA effect in your learning to control and eventually stop smoking will be lost. If you prepoke your smokes, you gain no more benefit than you would get by smoking cigarettes with manufactured holes in them.
